sclera
Eyeball's white armor
The sclera is the white outer layer of the eyeball, the tough fibrous tissue that maintains the eye's shape and protects its inner structures.
It covers most of the eye's surface, with the transparent cornea forming the front portion.
The doctor examined the sclera for signs of jaundice.
