viewing angle
Observer's optical position
Viewing angle describes the position from which something is seen, or the range of positions from which a display remains clearly visible.
For screens and monitors, viewing angle specifies how far off-center you can be before colors shift or contrast fades: This monitor has a 178-degree viewing angle.
The term also applies more generally to photography, surveillance, and observation—anywhere the observer's position relative to the subject matters.
A narrow viewing angle means you need to be directly in front; a wide one offers more flexibility.
