crossbreed
Blend two lineages
Crossbreed refers to an animal or plant produced by mating or crossing two different breeds, varieties, or species: The dog is a crossbreed of a poodle and a labrador.
As a verb, to crossbreed is to produce such offspring deliberately: Farmers crossbreed cattle to improve disease resistance.
The term applies to both the process and the result.
