county fair
Local agricultural celebration
A county fair is an annual public event featuring agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, carnival rides, games, and food vendors.
Organized at the county level, these fairs celebrate rural life and local agriculture while providing entertainment: We showed our pig at the county fair.
The midway, with its Ferris wheel and fried food, draws crowds beyond the farming community.
