pig races
Porcine speed contests
Pig races are novelty competitions in which pigs run a short course, typically at county fairs, agricultural shows, or amusement parks.
The pigs are often encouraged to run by placing food at the finish line.
The events are entertainment rather than serious sport, popular with children and marketed as wholesome rural fun: We took the kids to see the pig races at the state fair.
