cloggers
Rhythmic folk dancers
Cloggers are dancers who perform clog dancing, a folk dance style featuring rhythmic footwork in wooden-soled shoes.
The shoes strike the floor to create percussive patterns, similar to tap dancing but with a heavier, more driving sound.
Clogging has roots in British and Appalachian traditions: The cloggers stomped out a rhythm that shook the floorboards.
