congresspersons
Capitol Hill lawmakers
Congresspersons is the plural of congressperson, a gender-neutral term for a member of a congress, particularly the United States Congress.
The term emerged as an alternative to congressman when that word's generic masculine felt increasingly awkward: Several congresspersons spoke against the bill.
Congressman and congresswoman remain more common in practice.
