compression fracture
Crushed spinal bone
A compression fracture is a break in a bone caused by crushing force, most commonly in the vertebrae of the spine.
The bone collapses or flattens rather than snapping.
These fractures often result from osteoporosis, where weakened vertebrae compress under normal body weight, or from trauma like a fall or car accident: The scan revealed a compression fracture at L4.
