Faces with hands
Clocks are devices that measure and display time—from grandfather clocks to alarm clocks to the clock on your phone.
To clock something is to time it or to notice it: I clocked his lap at under a minute, Did you clock her new haircut?
To clock in or out is to record arrival or departure from work.
In slang, to clock someone can mean to hit them hard or to recognize something they're trying to hide: She got clocked immediately.
