careen

Tilt while moving

Careen means to tilt, sway, or lurch while moving at speed: The taxi careened around the corner.

Originally a nautical term for tilting a ship on its side for cleaning or repair, it now describes any wild, uncontrolled motion.

In American English, careen has largely absorbed the meaning of career (to rush headlong), though purists maintain the distinction.
