stay the course

Don't give up

Stay the course means to persist with a plan or approach despite difficulties or pressure to change.

The phrase comes from sailing—maintaining heading regardless of conditions—and now applies to any commitment that requires endurance: Critics urged a new strategy, but the president vowed to stay the course.

Often used in political and military contexts where abandoning a position would signal weakness.
