capsizing
Vessel tipping over
Capsizing is the overturning of a boat or ship, when the vessel rolls onto its side or flips completely upside down.
Small boats capsize from shifting weight or rough water; larger vessels from taking on water or cargo imbalance.
The word extends to any sudden overturning: The canoe capsized in the rapids.
