calf raise
Standing toe rises
A calf raise is a strength exercise targeting the muscles at the back of the lower leg.
Standing on the balls of the feet, you raise your heels as high as possible, then lower them: I do calf raises on the stairs every morning.
Variations include seated calf raises and single-leg raises for added difficulty.
