tibialis anterior

Foot-lifting muscle

The tibialis anterior is the muscle running along the front of the shin, responsible for dorsiflexion—pulling the foot upward toward the shin.

It's the muscle that burns when you walk uphill or tap your foot repeatedly.

Weakness here causes foot drop, where the toes drag during walking.
