bolo

Cowboy's corded neckwear

A bolo is a large single-edged knife used in the Philippines and other parts of Southeast Asia, similar to a machete, used for cutting vegetation and as a weapon.

In American usage, a bolo tie (or bolo) is a cord necklace with a decorative clasp, worn as Western-style neckwear: He wore a silver bolo with his suit jacket.

In law enforcement slang, BOLO is an acronym for "be on the lookout."
