boat lift
Vessel hoisting mechanism
A boat lift is a mechanical device that raises watercraft out of the water for storage, protecting hulls from damage and marine growth.
Boat lifts are installed at docks and in boathouses.
The term also refers to a mass evacuation or migration by sea: the Mariel boat lift brought 125,000 Cubans to Florida in 1980.
