bearskins
Tall furry headgear
Bearskins are the pelts of bears, used historically for rugs, coats, and ceremonial garments.
The word most often refers to the tall black fur caps worn by certain British and Canadian guards regiments: the bearskins worn by the Queen's Guard at Buckingham Palace.
These hats remain iconic symbols of British military pageantry.
