patrol cap
Military soft cover
A patrol cap is a soft, flat-topped military cap with a stiff visor, standard issue in many armed forces for everyday duty wear.
Distinguished from dress caps and berets, it's practical and unadorned: Soldiers wore patrol caps during field exercises.
Also called a field cap or utility cap.
