chinstrap
Keeps headgear on
A chinstrap is a strap that passes under the chin to secure something on the head—a helmet, hat, or other headgear: The cyclist fastened her chinstrap before riding.
Chinstrap also refers to a narrow band of beard along the jawline, or to the chinstrap penguin, named for the thin black line across its white face.
