apatosaurs

Giant herbivorous sauropods

Apatosaurs is the plural of apatosaurus, a genus of enormous long-necked herbivorous dinosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic period.

These sauropods were among the largest land animals ever to exist, with long tails and small heads.

The genus was once confused with brontosaurus, a name that persisted in popular culture despite being scientifically invalidated for decades.
