alpha wave
Calm brain signal
Alpha waves are a type of electrical activity in the brain, oscillating at 8 to 12 cycles per second, typically detected by electroencephalogram (EEG).
They occur most prominently when a person is awake but relaxed with eyes closed, and diminish during mental concentration or visual attention.
Alpha waves are associated with calm, meditative states and are often referenced in discussions of biofeedback and relaxation techniques.
