delta wave
Deep slumber rhythm
Delta waves are the slowest brain waves, occurring during deep dreamless sleep.
They have the highest amplitude and lowest frequency of the main brainwave types, cycling about one to four times per second.
Delta wave activity dominates in infants and decreases with age.
In adults, absence of delta waves during sleep may indicate neurological problems.
