beta wave

Conscious brain oscillation

Beta waves are brain waves with a frequency of roughly 13–30 Hz, associated with alert, focused mental states.

The brain produces beta waves during active thinking, problem-solving, and concentration.

They contrast with slower alpha waves (relaxation) and theta waves (drowsiness), and faster gamma waves (intense cognition).
