Yucatan Peninsula
Caribbean-Gulf land divider
The Yucatan Peninsula is a large landmass in southeastern Mexico and northern Central America, separating the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea.
It encompasses the Mexican states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, and Campeche, along with parts of Belize and Guatemala.
The region is known for its Maya archaeological sites, limestone terrain, and coastal resorts: We visited Cancún on the Yucatan Peninsula.
