Russian Civil War

Reds versus Whites

The Russian Civil War was the conflict following the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, fought primarily between the communist Red Army and the anti-Bolshevik White Army from 1918 to 1922.

Foreign powers intervened on the White side, but the Reds ultimately prevailed, consolidating Soviet control over most of the former Russian Empire.

The war killed millions through combat, famine, and disease.
