Russo-Japanese War
Port Arthur siege
The Russo-Japanese War was a 1904–1905 conflict between Russia and Japan over imperial ambitions in Manchuria and Korea.
Japan's decisive victory—including the destruction of Russia's Baltic Fleet at Tsushima—shocked Western powers and marked Japan's emergence as a major military force.
The war contributed to the Russian Revolution of 1905.
