White Army
Czarist loyalist coalition
The White Army was the loose coalition of anti-Bolshevik forces that fought against the Red Army during the Russian Civil War (1917–1922).
The Whites included monarchists, liberals, and foreign interventionists united mainly by opposition to communist rule rather than shared ideology.
The White Army controlled vast territories before its eventual defeat.
The color white traditionally opposed revolutionary red.
