Rosh Hashanah

Tishri's first day

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, observed in early autumn on the first two days of the Hebrew month of Tishrei.

The holiday marks the beginning of the High Holy Days, a ten-day period of reflection and repentance culminating in Yom Kippur.

Traditional observances include blowing the shofar (a ram's horn), eating apples dipped in honey for a sweet new year, and attending synagogue services.

We're hosting the family for Rosh Hashanah dinner.
