Pesach

Hebrew liberation holiday

Pesach is the Hebrew name for Passover, the Jewish festival commemorating the Exodus from Egypt.

The name derives from the angel of death "passing over" Israelite homes during the tenth plague.

Pesach lasts seven or eight days, marked by the seder meal, unleavened bread (matzah), and abstention from leavened foods: We're hosting the family for Pesach this year.
