Sukkot

Jewish harvest festival

Sukkot is the Jewish harvest festival commemorating the Israelites' wilderness wanderings after the exodus from Egypt.

Celebrated in autumn, it lasts seven days during which observant Jews build and eat meals in a sukkah—a temporary outdoor structure with a roof of branches or leaves.

The plural form of sukkah, Sukkot literally means "booths" or "huts."
