Queen Elizabeth
Royal Windsor matriarch
Queen Elizabeth typically refers to Elizabeth II (1926–2022), who reigned as Queen of the United Kingdom for seventy years—the longest in British history.
The name also applies to Elizabeth I (1533–1603), the Tudor monarch of the Elizabethan era.
Context usually makes clear which queen is meant: Queen Elizabeth just died would be the recent monarch; Queen Elizabeth never married is the earlier one.
The Queen Elizabeth is also a class of British ocean liner.
