Corgis is the plural of corgi, a small herding dog with short legs, a long body, and pointed ears.
The breed originated in Wales, where two varieties exist: Pembroke Welsh and Cardigan Welsh.
Corgis became widely associated with British royalty through Queen Elizabeth II's lifelong affection for them: The Queen's corgis had the run of Buckingham Palace.
