PowerShell

Windows command environment

PowerShell is a command-line shell and scripting language developed by Microsoft for system administration and automation.

It extends traditional command-line functionality with access to system internals, configuration management, and task automation across Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Commands in PowerShell are called cmdlets: Get-Process lists running processes.

Scripts automate repetitive administrative tasks: I wrote a PowerShell script to clean up old log files.
