Horde

Steppe empire name

A horde is a large, loosely organized group, often with connotations of chaos or threat: A horde of tourists descended on the village.

The word originally referred to nomadic groups of Central Asian warriors—Mongol hordes, Tatar hordes—and retains associations with overwhelming numbers and rough behavior.

In fantasy gaming, hordes are masses of enemies, often undead or monstrous.
