Outer Banks

North Carolina beaches

The Outer Banks are a chain of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina, stretching roughly 200 miles along the Atlantic.

Known for beaches, lighthouses, and the Wright brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk, the area draws tourists and has inspired the nickname "OBX." We rented a beach house on the Outer Banks.
