beach break
Waves over sand
A beach break is a surf spot where waves break over a sandy bottom rather than reef or rock.
The shifting sandbars create varied and often unpredictable wave patterns, making conditions change with tides and storms.
Beach breaks are generally more forgiving for beginners since wipeouts land in sand rather than on hard surfaces: Huntington Beach is one of California's most famous beach breaks.
