Waikiki

Diamond Head neighbor

Waikiki is a neighborhood and beach resort area in Honolulu, Hawaii, famous for its crescent-shaped beach, high-rise hotels, and surf culture.

Once a retreat for Hawaiian royalty, it became synonymous with tropical tourism in the twentieth century: We spent a week in Waikiki.

The name means "spouting waters" in Hawaiian.
