Musketeers

Musketeers were soldiers armed with muskets—the long-barreled firearms that dominated European warfare from the 16th through 18th centuries.

The word now evokes romantic adventure, largely due to Alexandre Dumas's novel *The Three Musketeers*, whose swashbuckling heroes serve the French king.

All for one and one for all became their famous motto.

The Three Musketeers is also a chocolate bar brand.
