The Three Musketeers

Athos and company

The Three Musketeers is an 1844 adventure novel by Alexandre Dumas, following d'Artagnan and three musketeers—Athos, Porthos, and Aramis—in 17th-century France.

Their motto "All for one and one for all" has become shorthand for loyal solidarity.

The phrase describes any tight-knit group acting in concert: Those three are inseparable—the Three Musketeers of the sales department.
