plebeian
Not an aristocrat
Plebeian refers to common people as opposed to aristocrats or elites.
In ancient Rome, plebeians were the general citizenry distinct from the privileged patrician class.
The word now describes anything ordinary, unrefined, or lacking sophistication: plebeian tastes, plebeian entertainment.
It often carries a note of snobbery when used to dismiss something as beneath one's standards.
