Holy Thursday
Pre-Easter liturgical observance
Holy Thursday is the Thursday before Easter, commemorating Jesus's Last Supper with his disciples.
In Catholic and some Protestant traditions, it marks the institution of the Eucharist and the washing of the disciples' feet.
Also called Maundy Thursday.
In some traditions, Holy Thursday refers instead to Ascension Thursday, forty days after Easter.
