Advent
Pre-Christmas liturgical season
Advent is the Christian liturgical season leading up to Christmas, typically beginning four Sundays before December 25th.
It marks a period of anticipation and preparation for celebrating Christ's birth.
An Advent calendar counts down the days, often with small treats or images behind each door.
We light another candle on the Advent wreath each Sunday. (Lowercase advent means a notable arrival or emergence.)
