Orthodox Easter
Julian calendar resurrection
Orthodox Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection as observed by Eastern Orthodox Christians.
It often falls on a different date than Western Easter because the Orthodox churches use the Julian calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar for calculating the holiday: Orthodox Easter is three weeks later this year.
