Cape Cod
Bay State peninsula
Cape Cod is a hook-shaped peninsula extending into the Atlantic Ocean from southeastern Massachusetts.
The name refers both to the landmass and to the region's distinctive culture of beaches, lighthouses, and summer tourism.
A Cape Cod is also a style of house—a low, symmetrical dwelling with a steep roof and central chimney, originating in colonial New England: a shingled Cape Cod with dormer windows.
