BS
Lies and exaggeration
BS is shorthand for bullshit, expressing disbelief or calling out nonsense: I'm calling BS on that story.
In academic contexts, BS is a Bachelor of Science degree, distinguishing science-focused study from a Bachelor of Arts: She got her BS in biology.
The abbreviation also appears in various organizational names and technical terms. (Lowercase bs is the same abbreviation in casual writing.)
