Hogwash is nonsense or rubbish—talk or writing that's worthless or untrue: That explanation is pure hogwash.
The word originally meant kitchen slop fed to pigs, which gives it a vivid dismissiveness.
It's milder than bullshit but carries the same contempt for what's being rejected.
