Animorphs
Kids become animals
Animorphs is a series of young adult science fiction novels (1996–2001) by K.A.
Applegate, following five teenagers who can transform into any animal they touch while fighting a secret alien invasion.
The name blends "animal" and "morph." The series is known for its dark themes despite its young audience: I grew up on Animorphs and it messed me up.
The term sometimes describes shapeshifters generally.
