xenos

Outsiders, in Greek

Xenos is Greek for stranger, foreigner, or guest—someone from outside your community.

In English contexts, it appears most often in compounds: xenophobia (fear of foreigners), xenophile (one attracted to foreign things).

In science fiction, particularly the Warhammer 40,000 universe, xenos refers to alien species, usually with hostile or contemptuous overtones: The Emperor's forces purge the xenos.
