kinsman

Man of family

A kinsman is a male relative, especially one connected by blood rather than marriage.

The word sounds archaic or formal in modern speech, surviving mainly in legal contexts, historical fiction, and biblical translations: He appealed to his kinsmen for help.

The female equivalent is kinswoman; kinfolk or kin covers relatives generally.
