Midriff-baring swimwear
A bikini is a two-piece swimsuit for women, with separate pieces covering the breasts and groin.
The design has varied from modest to minimal since its mid-twentieth-century debut.
By extension, bikini describes other two-part configurations: a bikini wax removes pubic hair outside the swimsuit line; bikini briefs are low-cut underwear. (Capitalized Bikini is the Pacific atoll.)
